A Part of Whistler’s History
Betty, a native Montrealer, who moved with her husband to Whistler
in 1974 when it was just a wide spot on the highway, has watched
Whistler grow from its infancy. In addition to being a top
producing realtor since 1979, Betty and her family have owned and
operated numerous businesses in the Whistler/Pemberton area.
Growing with Whistler
When the Municipality of Whistler was formed in the mid 70’s,
Betty became the very first secretary and performed most of the
administrative duties from her home. She and her husband soon
realized the potential of Whistler, and in 1978, they purchased
Rainbow Ski Village and opened Beau’s Restaurant, which was at the
time, the exclusive fine dining establishment in Whistler. To this
day, people fondly recall the legendary night skiing and dining
experiences enjoyed by all at Beau's... " In the old days of
Whistler", they reminisce.
Devotion to Community and Real Estate
It was in the back of Beau’s Restaurant at Rainbow Ski Village
where Betty established her own real estate agency, a branch of
McCauley Nicolls. However, after time, having two small children,
a ski hill, a restaurant, and a real estate firm to run, it soon
became evident that Betty had to narrow her focus. Betty chose to
devote her energy to the community and the sales and development
of real estate in Whistler and Pemberton.
Today, Betty and her family enjoy the Sea to Sky corridor and all
of the amenities the surrounding areas have to offer. Betty enjoys
being an integral part of Whistler’s history.

Vancouver &
Whistler will host the 2010 Winter Olympics
• Whistler in 2010 will be the site for the Alpine, Nordic
(biathlon, cross country skiing, Nordic combined), Sliding (ski
jumping, bobsleigh, luge, skeleton) and all Paralympic events.
• Vancouver in 2010 will host the ice events of figure
skating, ice hockey, short track speed skating and speed skating,
as well as freestyle skiing and snowboarding events.
• 2010 Olympic Winter Games dates February 12-28, 2010
• 2010 Paralympic Winter Games dates March 12-21, 2010
